When what you want is the best

This design was conceived to be the best cruising poweryacht available. One look and you'll know we succeeded. Moderate speed yields good economy. You can afford to run her. Solid Cape Dory design, engineering and construction make her the
proper choice.

Elegantly executed

Look around the Cape Dory 36's interior. Everywhere you look there is masterfully fitted teak in the Cape Dory tradition. Restful fabrics, tasteful hardware, a large and airy salon. Everything is there, too. L-shaped settee, hi-low table. And, in the galley, a teak parquet sole. Two-burner countertop stove, microwave oven, refrigerator/freezer, double sink and lots of storage. Spacious head compartment sports separate shower stall and porcelain sink. Guest cabin sleeps two in comfort. And then there
is also the private owner's stateroom with large, double berth, hanging locker and built-in bureau. It's all there. And it's all done to Cape Dory's standards.

Superbly engineered

Look at the twin engines located beneath the cabin sole. Access is superb. These engines sit on four I-beams for superior structural strength and excellent vibration dampening. There are large, raw-water strainers, fresh water cooling, room for a generator. Just what you'd expect from Cape Dory.

Realistically priced

Our best feature is her price. Compare us to other builders. We built her right. And we priced her right. The Cape Dory 36. There is no other choice.

Newport Shipyards of Bristol, RI acquired the Cape Dory name and the molds for the Cape Dory motoryachts (except the 30-footer), the CD300 Motorsailer, and the CD30MKII, CD330, CD36 and custom CD40 sailboats around 1991. CLICK HERE to view the 1991 sales brochure from Newport Shipyards.
