CONSTRUCTION:
Hand laid-up fiberglass hull with ½” airex core.
Moulded fiberglass deck with ½” balsa-core. White hull,
blue boot top, light blue bottom, varnished teak exterior trim includes
caprails, coamings, hatch trim, etc. Large self-bailing cockpit with
teak grate and pedestal 32” wheel steering. Long fin keel with
skeg-mounted rudder and protected propeller. Twelve polished bronze
opening ports. 7500 lbs. Of external lead ballast.

COMMENTS:
The Intrepid 40 Center Cockpit sloop was designed by Chuck Paine
and built to very high standards by Cape Dory Yachts. This vessel
was designed as a fast-sailing, well-built yacht to provide maximum
interior accommodations for her length. She was built as a long distance,
liveaboard cruiser. She is equipped with every modern convenience
for easy sailing such as Stoway mast, radar, loran c, refrigeration,
etc. We recommend the Intrepid 40 highly for the serious liveaboard
cruiser who wishes to find an exceptionally high quality yacht for
a fair value.
